Citi hired a Barclays saleswoman in Singapore to build its rates business
Shermaine Chia has had a good summer. After nine years at Barclays in Singapore, where she was latterly a senior vice president in G10 rates and FX sales, the Singapore Monetary Authority register shows her leaving the British bank in June.

Now Shermaine Chia has a new job. It's at a US bank instead.
Chia didn't respond to a request to comment for this article, but we understand that her new job is at Citi, where she will be helping to build out the G10 rates business in Asia. Citi declined to comment on this supposition.
Chia is understood to have been a star at Barclays and to have been pursued by banks in the Asian market. It's not clear why she left the British bank.
Macro salespeople are hot in Asia. There have been over 30 moves so far this year, most of them involving banks rather than hedge funds, although Franck Wang quietly went from Morgan Stanley to Balyasny in June.
Macro traders are hot too. Morgan Stanley has many gaps to fill. Sahil Aggarwal, a recently promoted managing director (MD) in rates trading at Morgan Stanley in Singapore, left in June. We are waiting to find out where he's going next.
