In recent weeks, JPMorgan is also understood to have lost Ian Ross, its Singapore-based head of APAC financing rates and global emerging market credit.
Ross had been at JPMorgan since 2010 and initially joined in Australia before moving to Hong Kong and then Singapore, where he'd been since 2019.
JPMorgan didn't respond to a request to comment on Ross's exit. Multiple sources say he's gone to Morgan Stanley in a senior risk role. Morgan Stanley also didn't respond to a request to comment.
The exits of Goyal and Ross aren't thought to be related, but indicate the demand for senior people in Asia even as we move into fourth quarter and bonuses approach. Both are likely to have been poached on guaranteed bonus. Goyal in particular is understood to have been subject to a buyback from JPMorgan, which he ignored.
