Deutsche Bank's top salesman is joining Goldman Sachs

Yesterday we reported the surprise news that one of Deutsche Bank's biggest producers is leaving. Today we can divulge that he's leaving for Goldman Sachs.

Sources say that Thomas Kønig, who previously ran Deutsche's Nordic Institutional Clients Group, is joining Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Kønig is understood to have a senior role in the GSAM Nordic team.

Deutsche Bank will be sorry to see Kønig go. Insiders at the German bank say he was known as the "King of Nordic" and was a consistently big producer over a 10-year period.

Kønig worked at Deutsche Bank for 12 years after joining from Nordea.

Goldman Sachs didn't immediately respond to a request to comment.
