Bank of Ireland reduced its headcount by 600 people last year and has not finished cutting yet.

Chief executive Richie Boucher said today that fewer staff will be required in future following investments in technology.

“It is fair to assume that there will be less people working in Bank of Ireland next year than there are today,” Boucher declared after reporting ongoing challenging trading conditions.

As we reported last week, Bank of Ireland paid its average member of code staff (defined as risk takers and senior managers) €240k for 2011.
