A philanthropic way to gain investment banking work experience

eFinancialCareers is once again giving students the opportunity to gain vital work experience within a top investment bank, while at the same time basking in the warm glow of altruism.

We've teamed up with the Princes Trust to launch University Million Makers, which is set to kick off on 11th October.

The scheme is essentially an opportunity for university students to raise money through entrepreneurial activities over a 4-month period. Students compete in teams of up to 12 people from a single university or business school.

University Million Makers tasks students with raising at least 2,500 for the Princes Trust through your money-making scheme, which will be examined by a Dragon's Den panel of experts.

So, what's in it for you? Well, we also have the support of a number of top investment banks - Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Nomura - which will offer the winning team the opportunity of a work placement, lasting at least three weeks in the summer of 2011.

Don't worry, we won't leave you completely stranded - each team will be assigned mentors from the corporate world to advise on the viability of your idea and help steer it in the right direction.

Even if you don't win, this is a chance to demonstrate your entrepreneurial nous, financial and organisational skills. Million Makers is recognised by many businesses as a learning and development initiative.

The Princes Trust helps disadvantaged young people get into education, training and employment.
