A new risk salary survey
Recruitment firm PSD Group has come out with its annual risk salary survey. It shows that, like lawyers, risk professionals in investment banks are on salaries a lot lower than their counterparts in the front office.
The highest paid risk types are in quantitative risk, where teams were cut back massively and have since been built up again. The lowest paid risk professionals are mostly in operational or credit risk, where hiring has picked up, but not - apparently - enough to bump up salaries to quantitative levels.
Salaries in risk have increased, although by nowhere near the same degree as the front office.
Over the past year, PSD thinks the average risk salary rose 15-20% (although the most desirable quant risk people got a 30% increase).
