SG adds to fledgling high-yield arm

SG Corporate and Investment Banking has hired two senior bankers for its European high-yield debt team just a week after unveiling former BNP Paribas banker Tanneguy de Carné as head of high-yield capital markets.

SG is one of around a dozen banks trying to move into the high-yield debt market despite recent signs that the boom in the sector is over.

Julien Raffelsbauer joins SG's corporate and investment banking arm as head of European high-yield research, reporting to Benoit Hubaud, head of overall credit research at the French bank. Raffelsbauer was previously a senior analyst covering European industrial companies at Bank of America in London.

Thibault de Kerizouet joins SG in June as a vice president in the high-yield capital markets team, reporting to de Carné, who joins from BNP Paribas in July. De Kerizouet also joins SG from BNP Paribas, where he was a fixed income associate, focusing on high-yield origination and execution.

SG has also appointed Aru Sivananthan, a member of its credit trading team, as head of high-yield trading within the European credit trading team led by Lionel Gibert.
