Our client is an established international bank with a significant presence in Asia and a growing Treasury and Global Markets platform in Singapore. The bank is seeking an experienced Fixed Income Trader to strengthen its capabilities in Singapore Government Securities (SGS), SGD rates and government bond market-making.
This is an attractive opportunity for a Bond Trader or Rates Trader with strong experience in client pricing, position management and interest-rate risk hedging.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market-making in Singapore Government Securities, SGD bonds and related fixed-income derivatives.
- Provide timely and competitive two-way pricing in response to client enquiries and Requests for Quotes.
- Execute fixed-income trades and manage bond inventory, duration exposure, yield-curve risk and overall trading positions.
- Manage market and liquidity risk within approved trading limits and internal policies.
- Develop and execute hedging strategies using interest-rate swaps, futures and other rates derivatives.
- Monitor SGD interest rates, government bond yields, liquidity conditions and macroeconomic developments.
- Conduct market research and analysis to support trading strategies, pricing and investment decisions.
- Work closely with Treasury Sales, Risk, Operations and other stakeholders to support client execution and product development.
- Ensure accurate trade capture, daily reporting and compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.
- Support the continued development of the bank’s SGD fixed-income and rates-trading capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of direct experience in SGS trading, SGD rates trading, government bond trading or fixed-income market-making.
- Strong knowledge of the Singapore fixed-income market, including government securities, interest rates, yield curves and related hedging products.
- Demonstrated experience in bond pricing, two-way market-making, position management, duration-risk management and hedging.
- Familiarity with interest-rate swaps, bond futures and other interest-rate derivatives.
- Knowledge of China’s onshore fixed-income market, including China Government Bonds, policy-bank bonds, credit products and derivatives, would be advantageous.
- Additional exposure to FX trading or cross-asset Treasury products would be beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and real-time decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant trading and market-information platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, teamwork and risk awareness.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin to communicate with relevant stakeholders and support Greater China-related market coverage.
