A veteran London FX trader is back, at a broking firm
If you have a history trading FX in London, you may have a history with Robert Diehl.

Diehl has been around. He's been head of CEEMEA FX options trading at RBS in London. He's been head of emerging markets trading at RBS in London. He's been global head of emerging markets FX derivatives at UBS. And he's been global head of FX trading at Unicredit.
It's an illustrious career than spans nearly three decades. And after a brief hiatus since January 2023, when Unicredit is thought to have moved its FX desk from London to Milan, Diehl is back. Just not at a bank.
Diehl declined to comment for this article, but he's understood to be joining Caventor Capital, the agency brokerage arm run by BCG. Last year, Risk reported that Caventor was quietly chasing business from hedge funds.
Despite being a trader by trade, Diehl is thought to have joined Caventor in a sales role, selling Caventor's capabilities to other traders. He's not the only one. Paul Lynn, a former head of financial institution sales at Credit Agricole who was ejected shortly before bonuses were paid in 2021, is running the sales team. Former Nomura trader James Ludlam is there too.
