Now that online dating is out of fashion, work is resurgent as a fine place to meet someone in real life. Rates desks, in particular, seem a great place to meet a future partner.

Following last year's weddings of Morgan Stanley's former global head of STIR trading to a Barclays rates trader at Lake Como, and of Barclays' head of inflation trading to a Deutsche Bank rates sales guy in Marrakesh, another big rates wedding is approaching. It is in Hampshire.
The new nuptials are between Shay Iqbal, a former Deutsche Bank STIR trader who joined Citadel Securities in August 2024, and Marissa North, a hybrids trader at Deutsche Bank. The two are thought to have met at DB.
Wedding invitees are thought to have received their summons yesterday. As with previous markets weddings, the event is expected to provide a fine opportunity for networking and is evincing FOMO among all who have been excluded.
Sources say the wedding will occur at a "gorgeous country mansion in Hampshire" and that Iqbal and North are "sweet and low-key." Both are well-regarded. Neither commented for this article. Colleagues described North as "extremely bright" and "one of the friendliest and hardest working traders on the floor."
