Nomura hired an ex-Morgan Stanley MD in Hong Kong

Nomura's investment bankers had an okay 2025, increasing revenues by 6% over the calendar year. Now they are adding firepower from Morgan Stanley.

Yesterday, Winton de St. John-Pryce announced he was joining the bank in Hong Kong as an MD and head of advisory for Asia (excluding Japan). He previously spent 20 years at Morgan Stanley, where he made MD in 2019 and was most recently chief operating officer of APAC investment banking. For the last few years, however, he has been running his own boutique firm, Drekar Group, based in Hong Kong but operating across both Asia and the US.

Nomura's financial year ends in March. Last quarter, the Japanese bank made record advisory revenues; De St. John-Pryce's arrival may help maintain this momentum to close the year out.
