Hedge fund Schonfeld hires FX quant head in London from Millennium
Schonfeld, like most large hedge funds is having a rocky start to 2025. Business Insider reports the fund had 0% returns last month and could potentially end March in the red. This hasn't stopped the fund from making big hires, including a quant specialist from Millennium in London.

Helder Antunes has joined Schonfeld as head of quantitative resources and development for macro and fixed income. He spent the last five years at Millennium as its head of FX analytics, and previously spent over five years as a quant at Rokos Capital Management.
For other London hires so far this year, Schonfeld has been looking at bank VPs. Tim Armstrong joined the fund as an embedded technologist in its new Delta-One team after six years as a software engineer at Goldman Sachs. Anna Baines of Barclays' client strategy team also joined Schonfeld as EMEA head of broker relations last week.
Schonfeld isn't the only hedge fund hiring in London. Qube, which has been massively expanding over the past year, hired quant trading director Robert Cartwright. He's an alum of Citadel's commodities team but spent the past seven years at Tudor Investment Corporation, latterly serving as head of commodities for its quant trading subsidiary, Xantium.
