Citadel hires high-frequency trading firm clearing head

If you're struggling to decide if you'd rather work at hedge fund Citadel or its sister company Citadel Securities, you might want to follow Gerald Walker's example. He's joined Citadel's operations team, which works on behalf of both firms.

Walker now works in a team which covers futures and options related activity. Walker spent the last year and a half at high-frequency trading firm Tower Research Capital, where he was global head of clearing and operations. 

Part of the role involves working on crypto clearing. This is only in Citadel Securities, which does some crypto market making on its co-owned digital asset exchange EDX Markets. The hedge fund does not trade crypto.

Prior to his role at Tower Research, Walker spent eight years at Dutch bank ABN AMRO, which recently ranked seventh in our proven Ideal Employer rankings. There, he served as head of UK operations, then European head of client service management. He also spent eight years working at derivatives exchange CME Group.
