Goodbye to the London digital assets trading venue that hired 62 people
Times change, things move on. In May 2025, GFO-X launched an "FCA regulated trading venue for centrally cleared assets." On September 3rd 2026, GFO-X posted on its website that it was ceasing its activities with immediate effect.

No one seems to have noticed GFO-X's move, except may its 62+ employees who presumably are already or will be soon out of jobs.
A spokesperson for GFO-X said, ""After careful consideration, GFO-X Group has taken the decision to wind down its UK business and suspend trading on its UK venue."
He also said: "GFO-X was established with a clear strategic vision: to create a trusted, regulated institutional venue for digital asset derivatives. The UK business achieved notable milestones, including regulatory approvals, clearing arrangements, participant onboarding and significant trading activity (£3bn traded notional)." But, “Market conditions and strategic considerations have evolved since launch."
GFO-X was founded by Arnab Sen, the former founder of Harbour Capital Management, and Rajesh Melwani, the chief operating officer of Harbour Capital Management. The two worked together in Hong Kong.
Although it terminated itself last Friday, GFO-X made various upbeat posts on LinkedIn recently. One said it was "delighted" to add prediction markets activities in Dubai. Another said it was reaching milestones and praised the "team for tenacious drive to keep delivering."
Insiders say it's only the London office that's currently affected. GFO-X's website says it's still hiring interns and compliance and tech staff. Applicants may need to be more tenacious than ever.
