Ex-Citi MD who disappeared two years ago reappears at hedge fund Millennium

Vikas Sharma had a good run at Citi. He joined the bank in London in 2000 as a regulatory specialist in the finance division and managed to make the leap from the middle to the front office, becoming global head of strategy and structuring for prime finance and a managing director in the structuring team in 2019.

In 2022, though, Sharma left Citi. It's not entirely clear what he's done since, but Sharma is now back. He's joined hedge fund Millennium in London.

Sharma didn't respond to a query about his new role or his time off, but his LinkedIn profile says he'll be a structurer at Millennium. Millennium employs various former Citi people as portfolio managers, including Matthew Gomez Menenzes and Paul Murray. Millennium declined to comment.

Millennium has been in the news recently for its staff turnover. John Curtice, a macro trader who joined earlier this year on an alleged $50m package left again, for example.
