The accounts suggest that Eisler’s intention to add portfolio managers last year came to fruition. Having ended 2022 with 79 members of the investment team, Eisler Capital Management Ltd ended 2023 with 176, an increase of 123%.

The non-investment team was strengthened too, albeit less enthusiastically. There, headcount went from 74 in 2022 to 89 last year.

Wages and salaries and Eisler did not, however, keep pace with all the hiring. In 2022, average compensation for Eisler Capital Management’s 153 London staff was $1.2m. Last year, that was down to $727k.

Eisler's falling average pay for employees came despite rising revenues, rising profits, and rising pay at the top. Revenues at Eisler Capital Management Ltd rose 27% year-on-year to $353m. Profits rose 36% to $60m. The highest paid director received $5.6m (up from $4.2m).
