Senior banker unexpectedly ejected by Deutsche Bank has new job starting Monday

It's actually Rothschild

As we observed last year, the sudden disappearance of Daniel Ross, the UK head of investment banking at Deutsche Bank and the architect of its deal with Numis, came as a surprise. Fortunately for him, he has a new job already.

Ross was let go in December after seemingly falling foul of office politics. We understand that he will be joining Rothschild in London on Monday as chairman of investment banking and co-head of the technology, telecoms and media team.

Rothschild didn't immediately respond to a request to comment on Ross's move.

Ross is a TMT banker by trade. He spent 12 years at Barclays where he was co-head of TMT and joined Deusche Bank as co-head of investment banking in 2021. Ross was the driving force between the German bank's acquisition of Numis and its 344 people in 2023. James Taylor, his co-head of investment banking at Deutsche, who joined from Numis as part of the deal, is still in his seat.
