Stan Chart ED leaves for firm making chicken rice
Veteran salesperson Vincent Toh has left Standard Chartered’s Singapore office to join food and beverage (F&B) company Bealvi as a managing director.
Toh spent more than eight years in FX solutions and e-commerce sales at Stan Chart, and was latterly an executive director and head of FX SCALE, the bank’s automated FX pricing engine.
His new firm, Singapore-headquartered Bealvi, runs kitchens across Asia that produce dishes such as dim sum and the Singaporean staple chicken rice. Toh is tasked with managing, consulting and trading with a wide range of F&B kitchens, cloud kitchens, retailers and other partners, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Prior to Stan Chart, Toh spent two years as head of transactional FX sales, Asia, at HSBC Global Banking and Markets in Hong Kong. From 2009 to 2012, he was head of FX micropay corporate sales, Asia, electronic markets, at NatWest Markets.
While there has been an increase in investment bankers shifting to the corporate sector since the pandemic, it’s still fairly unusual for sales and trading professionals to make the move.
