Deutsche Bank hires top French derivatives whiz
Deutsche Bank has hired a top derivatives managing director from Société Générale to cover its European and French clients from London.
Jean Phillippe Castellani is joining Deutsche as head of corporate FX sales for Southern Europe and France from Société Générale, where he spent more than 20 years.
Castellani, who is starting at Deutsche in August, advises clients on derivatives hedging, a hot area during the Covid crisis as high levels of volatility have led to wide bid/offer spreads.
During his 20-year career at SG he most recently covered financial sponsor clients, but he is switching to corporate clients in his new role, reporting to Chris Wall, head of corporate FX sales EMEA, who recently relocated from New York.
More arrivals are expected as Wall is looking to expand his team. “Most big banks turned in record revenues in this area, and the likes of Deutsche as well as the Japanese banks are on the front foot and hiring,” said one headhunter.
Deutsche Bank declined to comment.
