Credit Suisse is rehiring people who went to Mizuho

It seems you may always have a home at Credit Suisse. As we reported previously, various Credit Suisse people found new homes at the Japanese bank under Zahra Peerbhoy, who headed fixed income a Mizuho after joining from Credit Suisse in 2017. But Peerbhoy left in early 2019, and many of her hires left soon after. Now, at least one of them has resurfaced at Credit Suisse.

Julie Edinburgh has rejoined Credit Suisse as a part time managing director according to her LinkedIn profile. She spent 19 years at the Swiss bank between 1997 and 2016, where she was latterly head of medium term notes (MTNs), and two years at Mizuho between 2017 and 2019, where she was head of vanilla MTNs.

Credit Suisse declined to comment on Edinburgh's return, but she's understood to be a managing director on the private placement desk in London.

Edinburgh's rehabilitation at the Swiss bank is all the more impressive given that she was reportedly put at risk in 2015 when Credit Suisse restructured its macro business.

If Credit Suisse is rehiring from Mizuho, it has plenty of other options. Peerbhoy herself, for example, remains on the market after officially leaving Mizuho in March 2019. She spent 24 years at Credit Suisse, most recently as global solutions chief of staff.
