Blackrock poached the guy who made those videos for Goldman Sachs

If you're a devout follower of all things Goldman Sachs, then you will know the firm repackaged itself in recent years. Following the faux-pas of Lloyd Blankfein's 2009 'God's Work' quip, Goldman rebranded itself as a "thought leader" with TED-style 'Talks @GS' on everything from catastrophic climate change to white nationalism.

Now the man behind that strategy has been poached. - By Blackrock.

Rich Latour began work at Blackrock earlier this week. After five years in New York as head of digital content at GS, Latour is now Blackrock's head of content globally.

Latour's recent innovations at Goldman included '#CatchUpWithDavid', a series of cosy chats between David Solomon and others. There's also David Solomon's Instagram feed and Goldman's YouTube channel (which has a strangely modest 76k subscribers).

It's not clear what Latour will be doing at Blackrock, but his arrival reflects the demand for journalistic talent from big companies trying to make themselves seem more exciting. Latour himself retweeted an article from Axios in April noting that the job of the future is editor in chief - for large corporates.
