These eight hedge funds have been hiring in the U.S.
Most hedge funds haven’t been hiring at the same frequency as they’ve been accustomed to. That said, they will still pony up to bring on impressive candidates with the right set of skills and experience.
Here is a roundup of recent people moves across the hedge fund industry in the U.S.
Capstone Investment Advisors
Capstone Investment Advisors hired Michael Martin as vice president from Och-Ziff Capital Management, where he was a senior associate. Previously, he was a senior analyst at Goldman Sachs and, prior to that, an advisory associate at KPMG. His internships and summer analyst positions included stints at Inspire Capital Partners, GMO, the Blackstone Group and State Street.
Delonix Capital Management
Aaron Kapito joined Delonix Capital as a senior analyst. He came over from Elliot Management Corp.’s Elliot Associates, where he was an associate portfolio manager. Prior to that, he worked as an analyst at Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital.
Elliott Associates
Jeremy Grant joined Elliott Associates from Oak Hill Advisors, where he worked as an associate evaluating investment opportunities in distressed credit and special situations. Previously, he was an analyst at Credit Suisse and, prior to that, did summer analyst stints at both Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan.
Carbonado Capital
Clayton Gardner recently jumped from Farallon Capital Management to Carbonado Capital. Previously, he worked as an analyst at Cerberus Capital Management and Goldman Sachs.
Valiant Capital Management
Johann De Sousa came on board Valiant Capital Management after working as an investment analyst at Seven Harbour Global. Previously, he was a director at Conatus Capital Management and, prior to that, was an investment banking analyst in the technology, media and telecom (TMT) group at Goldman Sachs.
Balyasny Asset Management
Balyasny Asset Management hired Matthew Pascale as a senior analyst from ShearLinkCapital. Prior to that, he worked as an analyst at Tiger Legatus Capital Management, an associate at KKR and an analyst at the Blackstone Group.
Third Point
Nick Rugoff joined Third Point as a principal after working most recently at Moore Capital Management.
Bain Capital Public Equity
Joshua Ross left Adage Capital Management to head up Bain Capital Public Equity, the private equity firm’s hedge fund unit with $4bn under management, as chief investment officer and portfolio manager. Prior to focusing on financial sector investments at Adage, Ross was a partner and executive managing director at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group.
