The best paid jobs in investment banking

Shame you can't still be a prop trader

Which jobs in investment banks pay the most? Much as M&A bankers are expected to do well this year and (some) fixed income traders aren't, it's still traders that earn the most according to new information from Emolument.com, the real time pay data benchmarking firm.

The figures below, shown in dollars, are derived from pay data for 1,450 vice president-level bankers in London.

Proprietary traders are paid the most. It's unfortunate, therefore, that there are far fewer of these than there used to be. Origination and syndication specialists come second. Business development and marketing specialists are paid by far the least.
