Student finance careers events and competitions for the week ahead
Are you a student who wants to work in finance? Now's the time for you to hone your pitch. - Banks everywhere are accepting applications (we have a Singapore/Hong Kong deadlines timetable here and a London deadlines timetable here). Most banks close summer analyst (AKA summer intern) applications in October. They also spend the next few months touring 'target universities' and networking with students.

The Goldman Sachs student challenge
Goldman Sachs student challenge EMEA: Goldman Sachs is running a competition that's open to UK students who will graduate in 2017. Students are required to, 'demonstrate their analytical, creative and strategic thinking by presenting innovative solutions in response to one of three real business challenges.' The deadline for applications is 30th November 2014. The top three finalists win a place on Goldman's spring internship programme. Click here for more information.
KPMG technology competition (UK-based)
Tech crack the case competition: KPMG's UK technology consulting practice is running a competition for teams of 2-4 undergraduate students, The competition, which will, 'be a test of your ability to work with real problems and come up with creative solutions,' starts on November 24th. Company valuation challenge:
Holt Valuation Challenge: Credit Suisse is sponsoring this year's Holt Valuation Challenge. If you want to work in M&A or research, this is the competition for you. The three week challenge is designed to test your knowledge of accounting techniques and company valuation. For more information, click here. To enter, click here. Evening at Citigroup for students interested in markets jobs
The Global Financial Crisis - An Evening with Citi Markets: Citi's running a London-based event for all UK students on 20th of November. The bank's senior traders will discuss what happened during the financial crisis. Trading and asset management conference for students in the South West of the UK
South West Universities Finance Conference - trading and asset management: Bristol, Bath and Exeter University finance societies are running a conference in Bristol on November 8th. They have some interesting speakers, including Benoit Savoret, the former European chief operating officer at Lehman Brothers. Click here for more information.

European women in technology sponsored drinks: Goldman's running some sponsored drinks for female graduates who want to work in tech. They're at its London office on November 11th. Apply here by November 10th.
