13 jobs offering the biggest pay rises in financial services now
Outside of the front office, where bonuses are usually more diminutive than revenue-generating areas of financial services, base salaries are key. But which support roles are more likely to offer pay rises this year?
Recruiters Robert Half have just released their annual salary survey, which covers operations, middle office, technology and accounting positions within financial services. As boring and predictable as it sounds, there’s one key element driving both demand and pay rises – regulation.
The biggest pay rises handed out in 2014 were for senior regulatory reporting accountants. Credit risk managers and compliance professionals are not far behind, with pay rises of around 5%.
Elsewhere, demand remains high for IT professionals generally, with 96% of hiring managers in London professing to struggle to find talent, but information security experts at a senior level who can help protect banks from an increase in cyber-attacks are particularly desirable.
