Discover your dream Career
For Recruiters

Actually, it’s not impossible to work in banking and run fishing trips in Devon

Sideline

As we reported yesterday, Jefferies has hired Dominic Squire. Dominic is a former RBS managing director who left banking in April 2012 to run, 'Plymouth Boat Trips', a company that offers boat fishing trips and '007 Speedboat Trips' around Plymouth Harbour.

At first sight, it seemed that Squire had given up his boating vocation for his new job at Jefferies. In fact, this isn't the case. Squire is keeping the boating company going whilst busying himself with his new trading role at Jefferies. "I have someone else who runs the company and am there at weekends," he told us.

Who said you can't combine a banking career with a side job as a boating entrepreneur?
