One chart for identifying the best banks to work for now, by business

Why Goldman Sachs?

Wondering which bank is in best shape when it comes to equities, fixed income and advisory businesses? Want a quick comparator for banks' results by business in the fourth quarter, with all accounting noise stripped out? Below, we have precisely that courtesy of Nomura banking analyst Jon Peace.

The tables below show banks' recent quarterly results, expressed in own currencies (US banks in $, Deutsche Bank in €), minus the effects of DVA and FVA. We'll leave it to you to decide whether to work for Bank of America or JPMorgan, but it looks like Goldman did very well everywhere in the fourth quarter - except, maybe, equities sales and trading compared to the same time in 2012.
