100 names you need to know if you want a job at Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, or JPMorgan

Target your application

If you want a new job in banking, you have a few options - you can apply through recruiters, apply directly, upload your CV to our own CV database, or network like crazy.  If you're truly persistent and charming, you can even go for a direct approach to the line manager.

Whether you want to try the latter option or not, it will usually help if you know something about the key people in the business you're applying to.

To this end, we've assembled the following list of key names that you might want to know if you're applying for (predominantly front office) jobs at Barclays, Deutsche, Goldman Sachs or JPMorgan.

The list below isn't prescriptive. Nor is it exhaustive - there are far more than 25 key decision-makers at each of these banks. We've tried to avoid the best known public figures at each bank and to provide you with names that are less publicly available (although some of those below are well known figures). The list errs in favour of equities and M&A. If you have any names to add or corrections to make, please add them to the comments box at the bottom of this page. Let us know if you find this helpful and we will follow with similar lists for other key banks soon.

    Hi Sarah,

Awesome list. There isn't enough of this sort of information available, at least not in a collated format. Not only is it helpful to know who these key players are but at little research on them and where they have come from is an eye-opener to the general movements between IBs showing who is on the up and on the down.

Great job. Looking forwards to seeing more!

I'm sure you thought of this. If my name was on this list I would now instruct my assistant to screen my emails and calls more aggressively to deal with the anticipated increase in unsolicited approaches from candidates looking for work but who have been unable to identify me via their own research. The consequence is that these candidates' initial approach and background is now being assessed by a personal assistant, not me. In practise, for me this will increase the relative value of experienced recruiters compared to my former recruitment options which had included screening a manageable volume of direct enquiries personally. Resourceful and networked candidates will now be forced to deal via recruiters even more. Not sure who pays your bills, but I'm not convinced this is a good service for good candidates seeking to represent themselves direct to potential employers.

Sorry, but no senior manager is going to respond to a college student.
