Sian Hurrell, head of EMEA sales, said to leave Royal Bank of Scotland

Sian Hurrell, head of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at RBS, is said to have left the bank.

A colleague of Hurrell's confirmed that she had left, although RBS declined to comment. Headhunters said Hurrell had departed to join RBC Capital Markets. RBC also declined to comment.

Hurrell was a long-established employee at RBS, having been with the bank for more than 13 years in a variety of London-based senior sales roles. According to Financial News, she was integral to building RBS's rates sales business.

Steve Ashley, RBS's star rates trader, left the bank for Nomura in 2010. Ashley has recruited several senior RBS bankers to work with him at Nomura, including Gary Cottle as head of fixed income for EMEA.

Earlier this week, Financial News reported that William Fall, former head of RBS's FIG business, had left the bank too.
