The money will be used to provide help to current students in financial need, and to encourage wider access to the university for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Over the same period, Goldman Sachs Gives (UK) donated £500k to provide bursaries for disadvantaged students to study in the sixth form of Eton College. The bursaries will preferably be given to students from Afro-Caribbean and African backgrounds.
