The Easter predictions of Michael Maloney in New York
"Despite what people say, there's a lot going on on Wall Street. And yet, it's not the standard job market. The big banks are in trouble: they aren't hiring and they can't pay people. The big banks still don't really know what's happening with Dodd-Frank and aren't willing to go out on a limb and recruit. Instead, the hiring here is really taking place at smaller and mid-sized firms. These are where the opportunities are now and it will stay that way after Easter. People who are looking for banking jobs now need to understand the new reality and focus on smaller firms."
