Senior equity sales departure at Nomura
Jonathan Bowen, a managing director in charge of pan-European equity sales at Nomura, has left the bank. A headhunter said Bowen resigned today.
A colleague of Bowen's at the bank confirmed his departure. Nomura declined to comment.
Bowen's exit comes after Nomura announced plans last year to integrate its equity operations with Instinet, the agency brokerage that pioneered electronic trading. As electronic trading volumes increase, there is less need for sales staff.
Christian Dalman, head of proprietary trading at Nomura was reported to leave the bank last month after a proprietary trading team was cut in April.
Bowen joined Nomura from Citigroup in 2008. It is unclear what he intends to do next. We were unable to reach Bowen for comment.
