INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: RBS, Debt Capital Markets, Internship
Question:
Tell me about a challenging situation you have faced. What was the situation and how did you cope with it?
Student’s Answer:
In my previous job, I was frequently challenged to increase the level of customer service and to exceed customer expectations for internal and external customers. I increased the efficiency of our system of export documentation by reducing the number of steps in the process and eliminating waste from the system.
Question:
How do you establish a working relationship with new people?
Student’s Answer:
I believe in leaving room for open-communication. This is the most important foundation for establishing a working relationship. That, and developing respect for one another, for individual ideas and methodologies. Most of the time, there is more than one way in reaching the same goal. In highly competitive work environments, people lose the frame of the bigger picture. I like to connect with my associates and reassure them that it's a cooperative effort.
Question:
Where do you expect to be in 5 years time?
Student’s Answer:
I hope to be in a role that positively contributes to the company’s success as I am looking to make a long-term commitment. I believe that this position entails exactly what I’m looking to do and what I am very well qualified to do.
