INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: Morgan Stanley, Credit Risk, Graduate Job

Question:

You've already had an offer from Bank of America, so why do you want to work for Morgan Stanley?

Student’s Answer:

I've heard that the graduate scheme at Morgan Stanley is better in that it offers an opportunity for client interaction in the form of due diligence calls and visits.

Question:

Where do you aspire to be in ten years' time?

Student’s Answer:

I mentioned the CFA Charter and the possibility of attending business school. I said I'd like to have a senior position within the division and to handle my own portfolio of companies. I also mentioned my specific interest in the technology sector (this led to the next question).

Question:

Which company do you admire the most in the technology sector?

Student’s Answer:

I admire Apple, due to their business strategy of not releasing lower margin products such as a cheaper iPhone. Instead, they sell older models to capture a larger part of the market. This protects margins.
