These financial services jobs pay more than €100k in Ireland

If you want a high-paying financial services job in Ireland, there are several areas where you should focus: restructuring, compliance, senior fund accounting and senior management in general.

Restructuring

Senior restructuring directors working in large financial services consultancies are earning approximately €130k says Ken Harbourne from Wallace Myers International. “These are high level people going into domestic banks to restructure loan books, or helping struggling businesses to restructure,” he says.

Equally, says Harbourne, there are several roles in domestic banks for directors or senior managers of lending which will pay €120k to €150k. Directors of lending are people, "with really strong corporate business or retail lending experience, who are helping to restructure the loan book in the banks,” says Harbourne.

Elaine Liston, from Hudson Accounting & Finance, says you can also earn a packet as a senior mortgage restructurer: “There is a huge focus in Ireland on mortgages, with one in twelve being in arrears over six months”.

Risk/Compliance

Heads of, or Senior Management roles in, Risk and Compliance are also currently well paid due to their level of visibility. Liston says “employees in these positions need to be very credible people, with extensive experience in these roles, due to the increased focus from The Central Bank. These professionals will be very visible within their own market space”. Harbourne says that pay will vary from €80,000 to €130,000.

Fund auditors

Harbourne points out that there are additionally plenty of fund administration jobs in Ireland, and that within the fund admin space, fund auditors are particularly well paid. Audit directors within the big four can achieve a basic salary of around €100k he says.

“Directors of fund accounting are achieving high salaries in Ireland,” confirms Liston. “This reflects the high degree of responsibility placed upon these people,” she adds.

Finally, there is always the nice area of aircraft leasing. Harbourne says senior management in the aircraft leading sector will typically earn between  €100k and €150k.
