INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: Momentum Asset Management, research analyst, internship (NEW)
Question:
How would you go about analysing a company?
Student’s answer:
I said I would first look at the financial statements, for example on the income statement to look at company revenue and also their cash flow, to check their working capital and whether the business is generating enough cash or not. And finally I would look at the Balance Sheet to check things like debt, liquidity of the business and the assets the business has.
Question:
Which one is more important, being approachable or being skilful?
Student’s answer:
I said being skilful is more important, because one can be approachable but find that they have no skills at all.
Question:
Why did you decide to study finance?
Student’s answer:
I said I did firstly because it seemed the best option after I decided to discontinue with actuarial science. But after getting in, I fell in love with the field of finance and wanted to be involved in it and to make a career out of it.
