Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young expects to hire more than 10,000 experienced and entry-level financial services employees in the U.S. during its fiscal year ending June 2013. The firm’s advisory group will account for roughly 40 % of its experienced hires. Entry-level grads will need a strong GPA and an applicable major.
Cantor Fitzgerald is looking to add between 50 and 100 people to its investment banking by the end of the year, both through acquisitions and organic growth. The firm is also looking to grow its grow sales, trading and asset management groups on a global scale. Cantor just opened a new office in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Job openings at the Securities and Exchange Commission have increased 38% to 730 this fiscal year. The SEC is targeting people with backgrounds in high-frequency trading and derivatives as well as experienced accountants and economists.
