Two other investment banks have bolstered Middle Eastern headcount
As investment banks in the Middle East continue to pare back headcount, particularly at a senior level, it’s worth pointing to organisations which appear still willing to invest in people.
Last week, we pointed to J.P Morgan and Standard Chartered hiring senior investment bankers. Now, it’s the turn of Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Unicredit.
Wadih Boueiz, who has worked at Merrill Lynch for a number of years, and Hakin Karuoi, previously at Citigroup, have been appointed co-heads of corporate and investment banking at Bank of America. The former will be based out of London, however.
Meanwhile, Waleed El-Amir, who was previously head of investment banking for Bank of America in the MENA region, has joined Unicredit.
