Cork is emerging as the place to be for accountants
If you want to work in for a Big Four accountancy firm in Ireland, which have been building their teams recently, the advice is to move to Cork.
Cork has become something of a hub for accountancy, and Big Four firms in particular, according to reports, and it’s not just the back office functions normally associated with the Emerald Isle.
Deloitte is focusing in technology consultancy work in Cork, PwC has a financial services arm while KPMG has a dedicated department servicing the intellectual property rights of its clients.
There are other opportunities too, notably in Crowley DFK, Dell finance’s shared service centre and Quintas.
Rather than traditional accountancy work, the recession and changing regulatory landscape has prompted demand for restructuring, debt advisory, regulation, governance and compliance advice.
