Who hired in the Middle East in August?

August is typically the quietest month of the year for hiring activity in the Middle East and this year was no exception. New hires were few and far between.

Allianz, the insurance firm, has named Ayman Hegazy as chief financial officer for Egypt.

Al Masah Capital, the alternative asset manager, has named two new partners - Arindam Bose, who was previously at RBS and Gaurav Kumar, who joins from east String Investments.

The Dubai Financial Services Centre Authority has appointed Jeff Singer as its new CEO. He joins from Nasdaq Dubai.

The Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange has named Abdul Wahid Al Ulama as an independent director.

Menacorp has named Nabil Rantisi as managing director of its brokerage division. He plans to hire up to 20 people for his new team.

Nasdaq Dubai has appointed Hamed Ali as acting chief executive following the departure of Jeff Singer. He was previously chief operating officer.

Sarasin Alpen & Partners, the asset management arm of Bank Sarasin-Alpen, has named Sudarshan Malpani as senior executive officer for its Dubai operations.
