Want to work in M&A in the Republic of Ireland? Here's where's hot and where's not

It's been a while since we've looked at who's thriving in terms of M&A advice in Ireland and who's fading away. League tables for the first six months of 2012 from information provider Experian reveal there were quite a few changes between January and June.

The good news is that Irish M&A work actually increased very slightly in the first two quarters of this year - rising from €21.9bn to €22.2bn.

The bad news is that some of last year's dominant M&A advisors in Ireland dropped off the half year 2012 league table altogether - suggesting jobs at these organisations might be a little squeezed.

Here's what the Irish M&A league table looked like for the first six months of 2012:

M&A bankers at Davy, Morgan Stanley, Goodbody, Goldman, UBS, Citigroup, Jefferies and LHM Casey McGrath all seem to be doing well this year. But what's happened to many of last year's Irish M&A leaders? In particular, IMI Corporate finance appears to have dropped off Ireland's 2012 M&A league entirely. This surely doesn't augur well for anyone employed in IMI's M&A team...
