Cantor Fitzgerald continues to make good on its pledge to hire 1,000 employees this year with today's announcement that Michael Rowe and Luiz Schlittler, formerly of Jefferies & Co., have joined as Managing Directors in the Debt Capital Markets' Emerging Markets group.
The addition of Mr. Rowe and Mr. Schlittler expands Cantor's sales and trading coverage in fixed income securities. Mr. Rowe will focus on Emerging Markets corporate bond trading and Mr. Schlittler will concentrate on Emerging Markets sales.
"The appointment of Michael and Luiz adds to our existing relationships and expertise, further strengthening our capability in developing and emerging markets," said Cantor CEO Shawn Matthews. "The market is ripe for talent acquisition, and Cantor is well positioned for growth in these areas," Matthews added.
The Cantor CEO said the firm plans to "to aggressively expand and increase coverage in fast-growing markets such as Latin America that have experienced robust economic returns over the last several years and that add value to clients around the world."
Schlittler had been Senior Vice President in the Emerging Markets Division at Jefferies & Co., where he was responsible for trading Latin American bonds. Earlier, he served as Senior Vice President and Emerging Markets Debt Trader at Standard Bank and as a Fixed Income Specialist at Bloomberg in Brazil.
Rowe was Senior Vice President in the Emerging Markets Division at Jefferies & Co., where he was responsible for corporate bond trading. Earlier, Rowe held senior positions at International Trading Group and Standard Bank.
