A reminder: UCITS funds and UCIT fund administration are still big growth areas in Ireland
If you're looking for a job in Ireland's financial services industry, you could do worse than targeting a role in UCITs fund administration: it remains a big growth area.
Figures released recently by the Irish Funds Industry Association underscore Ireland's UCITs success: while pan-European UCITS assets fell by 6.2% last year, in Ireland they increased by 8%. This trend is reportedly continuing in 2012, with year-to-date growth to May reaching 10%.
As we noted at the end of last year, the proliferation of UCITs funds created plenty of jobs in Ireland in 2010 and 2011. That trend appears to be continuing. However, UCITs funds need to report net asset value on a daily rather than a monthly basis, which can make the role more pressured than a standard fund admin job.
