Colm Doherty provides an example for Ireland's redundant bankers: set up a consultancy
You could argue that Colm Doherty, former boss of AIB, has it easy: he left the bank with a €3m payout in November 2010 and has had the luxury of sitting out for a while, wondering what to do.
Now, however, Doherty has made up his mind: he's setting up a consultancy firm: Baily Capital.
According to the Independent, it will provide management consultancy services.
Baily Capital doesn't yet have a website, but its details are available here. You may wish to send Doherty your CV. Alternatively, you could always set up a small consultancy practice yourself - particularly if you have regulatory, project, or change management experience.
