Having announced that it was creating 1,000 new jobs in Ireland a few months ago, PayPal has now revealed that half of them will be going to non-Irish nationals.

The company said this week that it was being obliged to import half the 1,000 proposed hires from overseas, and to pay them far more than planned.

Louise Phelan, PayPal’s global operations VP said there’s a particular shortage of German, Dutch, and Nordic language speakers in Ireland.
