Summer has come early to Scottish financial services recruitment

Summer sunset over Edinburgh

If you're hoping to find a banking job in Scotland's financial services industry, you may have to wait until September.

That appears to be the message from the latest 'Talent Spotlight' on Scottish financial services hiring from recruitment firm Badenoch & Clarke.

“The typical summer slow down has been exacerbated by the Jubilee bank holidays," they say. There is: "downward pressure on day rates and

recruitment."

None of this sounds like great news, but B&C seems optimistic that it will pass. "We expect a sharp rise [in recruitment] once the holiday season closes,” they say.

Where will this hiring happen?

Financial analysts are reportedly wanted by fund managers and banks. There's also big demand for temporary staff who represent less of a commtiment in an uncertain economic environment.
