What recruiters say:

What kind of position could this person expect to get and in which organization or market?

Chris Wells, Associate Director – Finance and Risk Perm, Randstad Financial & Professional - London:

Similar role in practice to what he is currently doing, or else a role in internal audit for a large corporate

Paul Clutton, Business Director at Hays Senior Finance, London:

They could easily move to a big 4 accounting within the UK or perhaps to an organization within Utilities, Mining and Oil and Gas sectors, especially with relevant Russian language skills.

Thomas Greig, Senior Consultant – Michael Page Russia, Moscow:

"The Big 4 next option dilemma" - Lots of options, CFA would be good for Banking Metals and Mining Research, Stay in the big4 and become a Partner, move to C&I and become a Junior Financial Controller or IFRS / USGAAP Reporting Manager, Internal Audit, etc

What is his/her current market value?

Chris Wells, Associate Director – Finance and Risk Perm, Randstad Financial & Professional - London:

£55k

Paul Clutton, Business Director at Hays Senior Finance, London:

Because they are not fully qualified, it could be around £40K, but as soon as they qualify it would go up to btw £45-55k

Thomas Greig, Senior Consultant – Michael Page Russia, Moscow:

He will earn 100K Rubles / 3.3K USD now and be worth between 120K to 150K Rubles per month depending on where he goes,  Equity research will pay more and possibly up to 200K Rubles per month

What can the person do to improve his/her CV?

Chris Wells, Associate Director – Finance and Risk Perm, Randstad Financial & Professional - London:

A good well written cv. Expand upon level of ACCA attained, and exams left to take.

Paul Clutton, Business Director at Hays Senior Finance, London:

I like this CV, they’ve got a good format to it – two pages, a lot of good info. I like the fact that they’ve put their achievements at the bottom, distinguishing their abilities from other people. Not much to change.

Thomas Greig, Senior Consultant – Michael Page Russia, Moscow:

Great CV so the choice is yours, Finish the CFA if you want to join a bank.  I would always advise candidates to join an International company as there first step out of the big4.  If you join a Russian company they might pay more but it will be more difficult to then join an International company.
