Gulf banks are recruiting in Europe too
Regional banks are doing the majority of recruitment in the Gulf currently, but they’re also expanding their operations overseas.
The likes of London and Paris are prime targets for regional banks, suggests headhunters Stormbridge International, which specialises in placements for MENA-based financial services companies.
Banks from Qatar, the UAE and Bahrain are all expanding in Europe, André Nasr, CEO of Stormbridge International, told Arabian Business.
An example of this is the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. In a statement, it said that it was aiming to expand its Swiss operations – in particular, it’s set to recruit for its commodity finance division in the second half of this year. Overall staff numbers have increased from 10 to 45, and its intending to recruit more this year.
And what if you wanted to stay in the MENA region? Stormbridge suggests that its clients are eyeing expansion opportunities in Turkey, Libya and Iraq.
