It sounds like F&C will be hiring in Edinburgh

The Scotsman reports this morning that F&C wants to expand its business in Edinburgh. The fund manager already employs 130 people in the city and said yesterday that it wants to expand its consumer business, much of which is run in Scotland.

Specifically, F&C wants to selectively introduce new unit trusts as well as raise funds for existing trusts and improving its direct marketing capabilities. F&C made around 70 redundancies late last year, mostly in its middle and back office. At that time, it said it wanted to add to its institutional business.
