Disaster for anyone not working in the private client or asset management business at Bloxham

With Bank of Ireland, AIB and Ulster Bank making redundancies (albeit not all in broking), now is not the time to lose your job at an Irish investment banking and brokerage firm.

Unfortunately, this is what's happened to 30 of the 70 staff at Bloxham.

Following the discovery of accounting anomalies, Bloxham was ordered to cease all regulated activities at 5pm last Friday. Bloxham's private client brokers are ok - they're being sold to Davy in a deal negotiated in March.  Following the suspension, Davy's also taking on Bloxham's asset management business. But that leaves Bloxham's institutional equities profesionals, its bond salespeople, its researchers and its corporate financiers. Apparently there are 30 of them and they're all out of a job.

Bloxham's partners are listed here, if anyone is interested in hiring them.
